Precognition-Rarely does Asuka get explicit visions on her own. More commonly, she's given an impression of at most a few seconds, just enough to allow her to react very quickly to immediate events such as a gun being pulled, a swerve in traffic, etc.(obviously the inherent chance of failure in this remains in that her intuition may be wrong, or not occur at all), However, the chances of her receiving useful visions of the future or past do increase with physical contact with significant items and a considerable amount of concentration.
Biography:
Born in the States to a Japanese father and American mother, both members of the armed forces, which pulled them apart often. as such, much of her time growing up was spent with her brother, who taught her just about everything she knows. Before she could drive she could fix just about anything with an engine and many things without, though she took a particular liking to motorcycles. She would take to racing, where for a time she got the majority of her income, though her thrill-seeking nature also led her into burglary for a time. she would steal for the thrill of it, most often not even keeping the items she took. This actually didn't last, as eventually, a sort of heroic streak overtook her, and she picked up the hobby of acting as a vigilante, inspired at least partially by the comics she'd read growing up.
This turn was facilitated by the fact that she'd also learned to fight growing up, something made easier by the psychic gift that awoke within her. It wasn't a particularly strong gift in the beginning, but with practice she trained both mind and body, excelling in her fighting abilities and developing the gift into what she could only describe to people in her own geeky language as her own version of a Spider-Sense. Events days or weeks in advance were lost to her, but she could see the throw of a punch of the draw of a gun as if it had already happened, giving her the appearance of lightning fast reflexes which come in handy both in a fight and in a race. with further practice she found she could expand these abilities, use them in a more orthodox manner, but usually requiring greater concentration to do so.
An admitted action junkie, Asuka will try almost anything once if it sounds like a rush. the girl is practically without fear. From racing, to fighting to leaping across rooftops chasing crime, she's almost always on the move, not that she has a short attention span, but well frankly, she seems to get bored if she's not working on an engine or putting herself in danger of bodily harm. it's something her brother, and her parents before him always did a great deal of facepalming over. in fact, it was this wild streak that brought her from Tokyo, where she'd been living for a time, back to America, on the trail of an organized crime ring she'd been antagonizing. upon finally bringing them to justice, a series of events led to her deciding to settle down Stateside and set up shop on her own. well, not quite on her own. Always easier with a business partner, and a friend of hers, a fellow racer from her time in Japan who'd happened to be moving to the States herself, was more than willing to go in with her, the two opening a new garage together.
