Mermaids or merfolk are the stuff of many legends and cultures. They have most founding in greek mythology though. Said to be the progeny of the Olympian gods. They were worshiped as such.
Also known as Oceanids, In Greek and Roman mythology, the Oceanids were the three thousand children of the Titans Oceanus and Tethys. Each of these nymphs was the patron of a particular spring, river, ocean, lake, pond, pasture, flower or cloud.
For fresh water they were known also as, In Greek mythology, the Naiads (from the Greek , "to flow," and "running water") were a type of nymph who presided over fountains, wells, springs, streams, and brooks, as river gods embodied rivers, and some very ancient spirits inhabited the still waters of marshes, ponds and lagoon-lakes, such as pre-Mycenaean Lerna in the Argolid.
**There are many legends that relate them back to something of the fair folk or having possible Fae links. Thusly they are long lived, and have a hard time concieving amoungst their own, But can concieve with Humans or other more verile Preternaturals. INCLUDING Vamps. This to the writer is probable due to their cool blooded, and very preternatural beings. It is elluded that the Maids Lured sailors to their death or imprisonment under the seas. But there are some that say they take them under to reside with them in castles under the sea. Perhaps they do this due to their own makeup comprising of an easier conception when given the sperm of another being not their own? **
Water Nymphs
Oceanids (daughters of Oceanus and Tethys, any water, usually salty)
Nereids (daughters of Nereus, the Mediterranean Sea)
Naiads (usually fresh water)
**NOTE: Sirens are the elite of the merfolk. Its a title and name of reaching a certain platue in power. They were often killed when reaching this level due to the fact that they like the necromancers were able to control most if not all of their own folk. To see a Siren utilizing its song or power is in and of itself is enticing and compelling even if it is -Not- turned upon you. Just to see it is nearly enthralling and evokes from you a want to respond and become one with the allure of the sea sirens call. To do as she wills. If it -Is- turned upon you. It is mesmerizing and enthalling to the point that you will hear the sound of crashing waves against cliffs or the sand, If fresh water it will be the burbling of brooks and soothing lapping of flowing water.**
Merfolk have longevitiy much like that of the fea but they -Will- age, it is just at a severly slow process. The Wife, Leucothea of a vamp was said to be over thousands of years old and still retained the looks of a woman in her Early to Mid Thirties.
They have a very structurized society. In that there are definitive leaders, or The Strongest (Alpha) of the group will lead. This is not based upon Sex but rather power. Many times one showing the signs of strength in becoming a Siren were killed off due to fear of them being able to control, To the point of a Necromancer being able to control the undead, Other merfolk if not all. This includes compromising them to the point they no longer retain their own free will or ability to think clearly from this grip of control.
Due to this society arranged marriages are not unheard of nor frowned upon. Along these lines there was no such taboo attached to interbreeding either.
Leucothea had tried to temp her own eldest son in to sex with her to try and breech the siren barrier and thusly assure their own seat of power with her family and her Vampire husband, Samuel, Master of the City of Cape Cod.
It is of interest to Note that though some may exhibit signs of of the Siren, they will not just 'Become or Graduate' to the point of just being a Siren but rather this has to be broken free from them. As if there is a barrier mentally within them that finally must be surmounted in order to obtain this power culmination. This is usually broken or broached thru the way of sex with another of equal or higher power level. Leucothea believes Anita with her arduer and grasp of being a powerful necromancer can breach this with her sons and make them full fledged Sirens by having sex with them while under guise of the Arduer.

-General Powers-
The following powers and abilities are available to all Merfolk have regardless of whether they are a lesser or an Titan.
Energy Aura
All Supernaturals, if not shielded against doing so, give off an aura of energy which is perceptible to any mortal or other preternatural being which isn't a psychic null around their immediate vicinity. Usually perceptible in the same room, but an one of higher rank or better can be felt from farther away, such as in the same building or similar area of distance. This is one of the giveaways to someone being a Merfolk to those who can feel such energies. Other Supernaturals and some gifted humans may see this aura of energy as a kind of transluscent overlay over the actual physical presense of the Supernatural being viewed.
Improved Gracefulness
All Merfolk move with a fluid gracefulness to their actions as if they have muscles in places that humans do not. This seems to arise from a combination of muscular differences and the energies which they emit.
Improved Healing
This is dependant upon their metabolism. Which in turn is dependant upon them being within the vacinity of a large body of water. They are much like Lycans in that they process things quickly and aside from Decapitation, and Fire are able to heal most wounds as quickly as lycans without having to shift, Unless they have to heal major damage. This can be done while immersing themselves in their water type and assuming their tailed form. They can accerate their healing in any form of water but it does more if they are in their natural bodies of waters.
Merfolk also do not get infections or diseases.
They are not susceptible to silver like lycans, but they are vulnerable to Fire and will be compromised if they breath in poluted water or are not able to immerse themselves in water full for eight hours once a month.
They are not susceptible to the moon but as the lunar cycle effects the tides they do feel its pull like a lure to go to the seas or their own bodies of water they call home.
Improved Senses
Like most lycans you do have ramped up senses. However, Yours will be based off that of the sea creatures. Meaning Your eyesight is incredible in the dim to dark lighting. Like that of most you have highly sensitive skin and are able even under water to feel the vibrations and shifts in water flow. Your hearing is of normal compacity.
You have a highly definitive sense of smell to make up for the hearing and you prefer most foods found in the sea or waters, and perfer to at its normal temperature. Meaning cold is grand.
Improved Speed, Balance, Strength and Agility
You speed nearly Matches that of the lycans and in the water you are amazing and agile. Even the weakest are capable of bursts of speed so great that they rival the lycans and can catch humand unaware. Though your true glory is in the water.
With this speed comes a far greater agility then any human possesses and they are capable of turning in mid-run or blow almost instantaneously as well as do such things as easily balance on something like a beam or a high wire. All Merfolk are born with these reflexes, they age slowly much like fae. And like Lycans they are able to lift a car over their heads or punch right through a wall clear to the other side. However, balance and leverage still needs to be taken into consideration for that strength to be effective. And despite the superior strength and speed they possess, All Merfolk are jealous, vain and therefore prone to fits of physical altercations. Even the weakest has a basic understanding of how to fight. Because they are of the sea they are familar with spears, nets, and weapons used in conjunction of the sea life.
Resistance to Poisons
Merfolk are immune to most poisons. Unless it is inhaled in the water thru the gill slits. They are also susceptible to the poison which a Vampire of the sort which feeds on fear and can rot and reform of the line of Morte d' Amour/Lover of Death can inflict with their bite. this is just a bit slower due to their own cold blooded bodies. The bite begins a kind of corruption of the blood, causing the Lycanthrope or other victim to begin to rot from the inside out. The wounds turn black and emit a noxious pus and odor into the air while the corruption spreads internally. The bite MUST be deliberately intended to cause this kind of corruptive poisonous effect. The only way to save a bitten victim, whether mortal or Lycanthrope is for 2 or more powerful vampires, one at the least of Master Level status to feed on the victim sucking the poison out of their system and taking it into theirself. There is some danger for the vampires involved for if they are not powerful enough to process the poision it can affect them too causing them to rot at a much faster rate then a Lycanthrope, only they will not reform like the type of Vampire that caused the bite. If this happens the only chance the Vampire has to recover is for them to feed on a powerful non human source, preferably the Master who created them who runs the same risk as they did of becoming infected theirself. Can we all say nasty, nasty?
Sense Deception
Merfolk can tell if others are lying to them, whether it be vampire, Lycanthrope or human. This is a combination of using their senses to detect bodily changes in pulse, perspiration, etc and also due to a certain smell which is given off by those who are lying that has nothing to do with those other changes.
Shifting
Though Merfolk are not beholden to the moon, the Moon is responsible for the tides and thusly they will fee that pull, the call to be in the seas.
They also have three forms:
- Human Form
Which is self explanitory. Unless they have breed with another species.

- Aquatic Form:
** Note: Merfolk are much akin to lycans and are able become animals to call but unlike lycans they are able to utilize thier full power scope since they do not completely shift in to said animals IE Fish or birds. Perhaps this is where the ledgends of the taboo in kiling an ablatross comes from**
Oceanic - There are two tailed forms, that of the scaled varity and that of the dolphin like tail. Both are extreemely strong and capable of inflicting a massive amount of blunt force truama if hit with it. Scales are flexable like that of a fish, the Dolphins is of course layered with that thick layer before it hits actual muscle
When in this form they have the tail of a fish. The scales carry an odd sheen to them, Think the sheen of an abalone or pearl. These are layered or over lap a bit much like normal fish scales, but still the torso of a man or woman.(Hint: you have no legs)
If flucked then there are variasions like that of Whales or Porpoises. Grey, black, blue, white bellies. Still sleek and slick.
Fresh - In greek mythology the Sirens were rather half woman half bird. In this for those of the fresh water variations they can shift and become a bird of the water types. Much like that of the albatros or Cormarant. They are still bound to the waters and even in half bird phase they are able to dive beneath the waters using webbed feet or wings to propell them. Their wings -will- carry their body weight in this form but... the dangers in this is that what person wouldn not try to kill something of this shape. As stated above they have superb night vision and are able to navigate in the dark of night. All but true darkness IE a cave they are able to see within.
Much like the swans they have soft gleaming feathers that begin from the nape of hte neck trailing as they slowly fan out along the spine before it ends in an actual glorious tall. The feet become that of the bird tipped in vicious claws and webbed feet. (Please see natural images of your water bird of choice for descriptions)

Note: All Merfolk are jealous, vain and competitive, therefore prone to fits of physical altercations. Even amoungst themselves they via for position or rank amoungst their own. So Even the weakest has a basic understanding of how to fight. Because they are of the sea they are familar with spears, nets, and weapons used in conjunction of the sea life. Therefore the levels will be like that of the lycans.
-Weak-
Shield (Weak)
There are two basic types of shielding. The one type is something that has to be developed fairly early on or the Lycanthrope would be given away for what they are to any person or creature who is not a total null psychically. This has to do with keeping your Lycanthrope energies from "leaking" out to a perceptible level. This shielding is nulled by strong emotions.
Tracking/Hunting
The Lycanthrope uses their improved senses, strength, and speed towards hunting and tracking better then many others of their same level. Your sense of smell is much more intense by way of taste.
Beguile
This is the begining of the sirens call. They are able to beguile and coerse with touch and voice inflection causing a sort of bedazzlement. It is easily broken if they weak has the slightest hesitation, or there is a serious distraction. It enthralls the subject. Allowing them to hear only your voice as if it were a part os some sea like characteristic but is not completely able to drown out everything. Like loud high pitched noises or something you would normally instantly adhere to. IE Alarms
You are not able to feed from this energy as of yet.
Water control
**Note: the expendature of this full power will leave you weakened and wanting to rest or rejuvinate for up to 8hrs. If in aquaous form fully immersed Then recovery will happen a bit easier and depending upon expenditure you will recover more quickly.**
You are able to inflict small anomolies in a body of water.
Rogue Wave - standing at 8 ft tall traveling 500 feet
Small Whirlpool - with a radius of 10 ft and lasting for 20 mins

Commune
You are able to commune with intelligent sea life that is known for having an audible language while -IN- aquatic form.
-Moderate-

This is the moderate stage of the sirens call. They are able to enchant with touch and voice inflection causing a sort of bedazzlement much more easily. Even to the point of their voice drowning out any and all other sounds about the being. Creating a sort of solace and ease in the subjects mind. As if drifting on a placid sea or lake. Only the most distracting of things can shake it. IE water throw in the subjects face. Once again hesitancy on the subjects part will kill it if the subject is stronger then them. Self confidence can draw in even an Alpha or master vampire Unless they are ages old and wise to these manuevers. Your kiss tastes of salt of the seas. and your body provides a sweet succor that only the subject knows as comforting. This will make the subject willing to compromise all but the most hard core of morals. Even then it is a fight to not desire to please the Merperson and acquiesce to their wishes.
You are now able to gain some morsels of sustenence from this.
Order
Commune has now grown to the point of ordering or commanding. You are able to inflict an intense desire to fulfill simplistic commands to most intelligent sea life. IE to circle, attack by ramming, and so on. But note the more unnatural the command the higher the fail rate.
Porpoises - One pod consisting of 5
Whales - dependant upon size and grouping tendancies. 3 - 1
Sharks - 1 - 2
Even Terns, gulls and the like - 10
Weather Control
You are now able to effect the weather surround bodies of water. Up to a distance of 1 mile from the main source of water.
- Small Squall / Storm - It must be a cloudy out, and will last with winds and rain for up to 30 mins depending upon ferousity and will depleat your energy making you want to immerse and shift to rejuvinate.
- Wind - you can create a breeze with the same stipulation
- Rain - you can create a breeze with the same stipulation
Water Control (mod)
**Note: the expendature of this full power will leave you weakened and wanting to rest or rejuvinate in aquaous form fully immersed for up to 6hrs depending upon the amount expended.**
You are able to inflict larger areas of anomolies in a body of water.
Rogue Wave - standing at 10 ft tall, strectching 500 feet across, and traveling a 1/4 mile
Medium Whirlpool - with a radius of 10 ft and lasting for 20mins

You are now able to clear the weather by pushing away storm coulds to another area or calm the seas. Basically reverse all things. All in all it is manipulation of water, whether it is thru humidity laden air to the water itself.

If you are able to seduce them more then once your touch they begin to crave and will willingly give up prized knowledge too.
Once again hesitancy on the subjects part will kill it if the subject is stronger then them. This will effect almost all those beneath you in levels and a battle of wills must be fought for the most purient or strong of will for those above you.
Your self confidence can draw in even an Alpha or master vampire Unless they are ages old and wise to these manuevers, and/or are sheilding.

Sirens Kiss
When used in conjunction with the Sirens song this is a most impressive power. Thru the conduit of the mouth you are able to enter the beings body. If allowed inside or they subject becomes dazzled enough to forget to sheild you are able to enter thier mind. Hear surface thoghts, read emotions, even know thier body so intimately you might be able to sense the stae or health of it. Thru this kiss you are able to stimulate the subject also, much like the belle line the subject will not only feel that solace but sublim pleasure like hours of foreplay.
Sirens Song
Enscorell now becomes the full blown song. Only the more pure of hearts or strongest of wills can resist and even then it can be a battle.
You are now able to feed from the persons Emotional state as if them falling under allows thier energies put off during such time, ie lust or willingness to sustain you for a full meal. In this they are willing to compromise themselves and much like being fea struck will become addicted to you. You can even inflect some moods upon them making that addiction work for you on their own emotional state. A willing subject almost akin to a slave.

Your song is nearly perfect and imperveous now. Not only will it effect the unwilling but touch can enhance it making it harder to resist.

A conduit inside the body like that of The Sirens kiss makes it doubly harder to resist. Even anita fell under it. This may have something to do with the contact of salty saliva and the face that thru the mouth provides the ease in ingestion takes place, thusly pouring your power in like food allows you an easier access past a persons sheilds.
The Song is not only for lustful purposes but can induce or order any emotional state they wish. Even inciting more explicit emotions like suicidal sorrow, enraged, and chaotic states. IF the victim does not win out against the siren there is a high possibility of addiction to the taste of the sirens power and they will want more.
Sirens Kiss
Much like the kiss of the succubi, this is incredibly potent. Thru this kiss You are not only able to augment your own Song and intice the victim to want to please you in order to be with you and find that peaceful solace of the tides washing all your own supposed troubles away but thru the intimate contact you are able to see thru the persons mind. To read surface thoughts. This can be highly addictive and will have the flavor of the sea.
Also thru this kiss you are able to feed on the persons energy or emotional state that was influenced by the perusal of song and kiss to sustain your own flesh. IN effect re-energize your own.
Order
At this level they are able to effect and contorl or order thier own people. Often they were worshiped as gods and goddess'. At this level you are able to effect even the unwilling of your own folk.
Natural sea animals are willing to go against their natural insticts and will follow a command given even if the Siren is a distance form the sea.

For fresh water they were known also as, In Greek mythology, the Naiads (from the Greek , "to flow," and "running water") were a type of nymph who presided over fountains, wells, springs, streams, and brooks, as river gods embodied rivers, and some very ancient spirits inhabited the still waters of marshes, ponds and lagoon-lakes, such as pre-Mycenaean Lerna in the Argolid.
**There are many legends that relate them back to something of the fair folk or having possible Fae links. Thusly they are long lived, and have a hard time concieving amoungst their own, But can concieve with Humans or other more verile Preternaturals. INCLUDING Vamps. This to the writer is probable due to their cool blooded, and very preternatural beings. It is elluded that the Maids Lured sailors to their death or imprisonment under the seas. But there are some that say they take them under to reside with them in castles under the sea. Perhaps they do this due to their own makeup comprising of an easier conception when given the sperm of another being not their own? **
Water Nymphs
Oceanids (daughters of Oceanus and Tethys, any water, usually salty)
Nereids (daughters of Nereus, the Mediterranean Sea)
Naiads (usually fresh water)
**NOTE: Sirens are the elite of the merfolk. Its a title and name of reaching a certain platue in power. They were often killed when reaching this level due to the fact that they like the necromancers were able to control most if not all of their own folk. To see a Siren utilizing its song or power is in and of itself is enticing and compelling even if it is -Not- turned upon you. Just to see it is nearly enthralling and evokes from you a want to respond and become one with the allure of the sea sirens call. To do as she wills. If it -Is- turned upon you. It is mesmerizing and enthalling to the point that you will hear the sound of crashing waves against cliffs or the sand, If fresh water it will be the burbling of brooks and soothing lapping of flowing water.**
Merfolk have longevitiy much like that of the fea but they -Will- age, it is just at a severly slow process. The Wife, Leucothea of a vamp was said to be over thousands of years old and still retained the looks of a woman in her Early to Mid Thirties.
They have a very structurized society. In that there are definitive leaders, or The Strongest (Alpha) of the group will lead. This is not based upon Sex but rather power. Many times one showing the signs of strength in becoming a Siren were killed off due to fear of them being able to control, To the point of a Necromancer being able to control the undead, Other merfolk if not all. This includes compromising them to the point they no longer retain their own free will or ability to think clearly from this grip of control.
Due to this society arranged marriages are not unheard of nor frowned upon. Along these lines there was no such taboo attached to interbreeding either.
Leucothea had tried to temp her own eldest son in to sex with her to try and breech the siren barrier and thusly assure their own seat of power with her family and her Vampire husband, Samuel, Master of the City of Cape Cod.
It is of interest to Note that though some may exhibit signs of of the Siren, they will not just 'Become or Graduate' to the point of just being a Siren but rather this has to be broken free from them. As if there is a barrier mentally within them that finally must be surmounted in order to obtain this power culmination. This is usually broken or broached thru the way of sex with another of equal or higher power level. Leucothea believes Anita with her arduer and grasp of being a powerful necromancer can breach this with her sons and make them full fledged Sirens by having sex with them while under guise of the Arduer.

-General Powers-
The following powers and abilities are available to all Merfolk have regardless of whether they are a lesser or an Titan.
Energy Aura
All Supernaturals, if not shielded against doing so, give off an aura of energy which is perceptible to any mortal or other preternatural being which isn't a psychic null around their immediate vicinity. Usually perceptible in the same room, but an one of higher rank or better can be felt from farther away, such as in the same building or similar area of distance. This is one of the giveaways to someone being a Merfolk to those who can feel such energies. Other Supernaturals and some gifted humans may see this aura of energy as a kind of transluscent overlay over the actual physical presense of the Supernatural being viewed.
Improved Gracefulness
All Merfolk move with a fluid gracefulness to their actions as if they have muscles in places that humans do not. This seems to arise from a combination of muscular differences and the energies which they emit.
Improved Healing
This is dependant upon their metabolism. Which in turn is dependant upon them being within the vacinity of a large body of water. They are much like Lycans in that they process things quickly and aside from Decapitation, and Fire are able to heal most wounds as quickly as lycans without having to shift, Unless they have to heal major damage. This can be done while immersing themselves in their water type and assuming their tailed form. They can accerate their healing in any form of water but it does more if they are in their natural bodies of waters.
Merfolk also do not get infections or diseases.
They are not susceptible to silver like lycans, but they are vulnerable to Fire and will be compromised if they breath in poluted water or are not able to immerse themselves in water full for eight hours once a month.
They are not susceptible to the moon but as the lunar cycle effects the tides they do feel its pull like a lure to go to the seas or their own bodies of water they call home.
Improved Senses
Like most lycans you do have ramped up senses. However, Yours will be based off that of the sea creatures. Meaning Your eyesight is incredible in the dim to dark lighting. Like that of most you have highly sensitive skin and are able even under water to feel the vibrations and shifts in water flow. Your hearing is of normal compacity.
You have a highly definitive sense of smell to make up for the hearing and you prefer most foods found in the sea or waters, and perfer to at its normal temperature. Meaning cold is grand.
Improved Speed, Balance, Strength and Agility
You speed nearly Matches that of the lycans and in the water you are amazing and agile. Even the weakest are capable of bursts of speed so great that they rival the lycans and can catch humand unaware. Though your true glory is in the water.
With this speed comes a far greater agility then any human possesses and they are capable of turning in mid-run or blow almost instantaneously as well as do such things as easily balance on something like a beam or a high wire. All Merfolk are born with these reflexes, they age slowly much like fae. And like Lycans they are able to lift a car over their heads or punch right through a wall clear to the other side. However, balance and leverage still needs to be taken into consideration for that strength to be effective. And despite the superior strength and speed they possess, All Merfolk are jealous, vain and therefore prone to fits of physical altercations. Even the weakest has a basic understanding of how to fight. Because they are of the sea they are familar with spears, nets, and weapons used in conjunction of the sea life.
Resistance to Poisons
Merfolk are immune to most poisons. Unless it is inhaled in the water thru the gill slits. They are also susceptible to the poison which a Vampire of the sort which feeds on fear and can rot and reform of the line of Morte d' Amour/Lover of Death can inflict with their bite. this is just a bit slower due to their own cold blooded bodies. The bite begins a kind of corruption of the blood, causing the Lycanthrope or other victim to begin to rot from the inside out. The wounds turn black and emit a noxious pus and odor into the air while the corruption spreads internally. The bite MUST be deliberately intended to cause this kind of corruptive poisonous effect. The only way to save a bitten victim, whether mortal or Lycanthrope is for 2 or more powerful vampires, one at the least of Master Level status to feed on the victim sucking the poison out of their system and taking it into theirself. There is some danger for the vampires involved for if they are not powerful enough to process the poision it can affect them too causing them to rot at a much faster rate then a Lycanthrope, only they will not reform like the type of Vampire that caused the bite. If this happens the only chance the Vampire has to recover is for them to feed on a powerful non human source, preferably the Master who created them who runs the same risk as they did of becoming infected theirself. Can we all say nasty, nasty?
Sense Deception
Merfolk can tell if others are lying to them, whether it be vampire, Lycanthrope or human. This is a combination of using their senses to detect bodily changes in pulse, perspiration, etc and also due to a certain smell which is given off by those who are lying that has nothing to do with those other changes.
Shifting
Though Merfolk are not beholden to the moon, the Moon is responsible for the tides and thusly they will fee that pull, the call to be in the seas.
They also have three forms:
- Human Form
Which is self explanitory. Unless they have breed with another species.
"Her eyes were black, so black that her pupils were lost in the color of her irises. Her lashes were golden, her eyebrows gold and white. - Aquatic Form:
** Note: Merfolk are much akin to lycans and are able become animals to call but unlike lycans they are able to utilize thier full power scope since they do not completely shift in to said animals IE Fish or birds. Perhaps this is where the ledgends of the taboo in kiling an ablatross comes from**
Oceanic - There are two tailed forms, that of the scaled varity and that of the dolphin like tail. Both are extreemely strong and capable of inflicting a massive amount of blunt force truama if hit with it. Scales are flexable like that of a fish, the Dolphins is of course layered with that thick layer before it hits actual muscle
When in this form they have the tail of a fish. The scales carry an odd sheen to them, Think the sheen of an abalone or pearl. These are layered or over lap a bit much like normal fish scales, but still the torso of a man or woman.(Hint: you have no legs)
If flucked then there are variasions like that of Whales or Porpoises. Grey, black, blue, white bellies. Still sleek and slick.
Fresh - In greek mythology the Sirens were rather half woman half bird. In this for those of the fresh water variations they can shift and become a bird of the water types. Much like that of the albatros or Cormarant. They are still bound to the waters and even in half bird phase they are able to dive beneath the waters using webbed feet or wings to propell them. Their wings -will- carry their body weight in this form but... the dangers in this is that what person wouldn not try to kill something of this shape. As stated above they have superb night vision and are able to navigate in the dark of night. All but true darkness IE a cave they are able to see within.
Much like the swans they have soft gleaming feathers that begin from the nape of hte neck trailing as they slowly fan out along the spine before it ends in an actual glorious tall. The feet become that of the bird tipped in vicious claws and webbed feet. (Please see natural images of your water bird of choice for descriptions)

Note: All Merfolk are jealous, vain and competitive, therefore prone to fits of physical altercations. Even amoungst themselves they via for position or rank amoungst their own. So Even the weakest has a basic understanding of how to fight. Because they are of the sea they are familar with spears, nets, and weapons used in conjunction of the sea life. Therefore the levels will be like that of the lycans.
-Weak-
Shield (Weak)
There are two basic types of shielding. The one type is something that has to be developed fairly early on or the Lycanthrope would be given away for what they are to any person or creature who is not a total null psychically. This has to do with keeping your Lycanthrope energies from "leaking" out to a perceptible level. This shielding is nulled by strong emotions.
Tracking/Hunting
The Lycanthrope uses their improved senses, strength, and speed towards hunting and tracking better then many others of their same level. Your sense of smell is much more intense by way of taste.
Beguile
This is the begining of the sirens call. They are able to beguile and coerse with touch and voice inflection causing a sort of bedazzlement. It is easily broken if they weak has the slightest hesitation, or there is a serious distraction. It enthralls the subject. Allowing them to hear only your voice as if it were a part os some sea like characteristic but is not completely able to drown out everything. Like loud high pitched noises or something you would normally instantly adhere to. IE Alarms
You are not able to feed from this energy as of yet.
Water control
**Note: the expendature of this full power will leave you weakened and wanting to rest or rejuvinate for up to 8hrs. If in aquaous form fully immersed Then recovery will happen a bit easier and depending upon expenditure you will recover more quickly.**
You are able to inflict small anomolies in a body of water.
Rogue Wave - standing at 8 ft tall traveling 500 feet
Small Whirlpool - with a radius of 10 ft and lasting for 20 mins

Commune
You are able to commune with intelligent sea life that is known for having an audible language while -IN- aquatic form.

This is the moderate stage of the sirens call. They are able to enchant with touch and voice inflection causing a sort of bedazzlement much more easily. Even to the point of their voice drowning out any and all other sounds about the being. Creating a sort of solace and ease in the subjects mind. As if drifting on a placid sea or lake. Only the most distracting of things can shake it. IE water throw in the subjects face. Once again hesitancy on the subjects part will kill it if the subject is stronger then them. Self confidence can draw in even an Alpha or master vampire Unless they are ages old and wise to these manuevers. Your kiss tastes of salt of the seas. and your body provides a sweet succor that only the subject knows as comforting. This will make the subject willing to compromise all but the most hard core of morals. Even then it is a fight to not desire to please the Merperson and acquiesce to their wishes.
You are now able to gain some morsels of sustenence from this.
Order
Commune has now grown to the point of ordering or commanding. You are able to inflict an intense desire to fulfill simplistic commands to most intelligent sea life. IE to circle, attack by ramming, and so on. But note the more unnatural the command the higher the fail rate.
Porpoises - One pod consisting of 5
Whales - dependant upon size and grouping tendancies. 3 - 1
Sharks - 1 - 2
Even Terns, gulls and the like - 10
Weather Control
You are now able to effect the weather surround bodies of water. Up to a distance of 1 mile from the main source of water.
- Small Squall / Storm - It must be a cloudy out, and will last with winds and rain for up to 30 mins depending upon ferousity and will depleat your energy making you want to immerse and shift to rejuvinate.
- Wind - you can create a breeze with the same stipulation
- Rain - you can create a breeze with the same stipulation
Water Control (mod)
**Note: the expendature of this full power will leave you weakened and wanting to rest or rejuvinate in aquaous form fully immersed for up to 6hrs depending upon the amount expended.**
You are able to inflict larger areas of anomolies in a body of water.

Medium Whirlpool - with a radius of 10 ft and lasting for 20mins

You are now able to clear the weather by pushing away storm coulds to another area or calm the seas. Basically reverse all things. All in all it is manipulation of water, whether it is thru humidity laden air to the water itself.

As with above you are able to bedazzle the subject. They are now intruged enough that they will be willing to compromise all but their most stern morals for you.
If you are able to seduce them more then once your touch they begin to crave and will willingly give up prized knowledge too.
Once again hesitancy on the subjects part will kill it if the subject is stronger then them. This will effect almost all those beneath you in levels and a battle of wills must be fought for the most purient or strong of will for those above you.
Your self confidence can draw in even an Alpha or master vampire Unless they are ages old and wise to these manuevers, and/or are sheilding.
You are now able to gain a bit more sustenence from this but will need to augment still with your normal mein.

Sirens Kiss
When used in conjunction with the Sirens song this is a most impressive power. Thru the conduit of the mouth you are able to enter the beings body. If allowed inside or they subject becomes dazzled enough to forget to sheild you are able to enter thier mind. Hear surface thoghts, read emotions, even know thier body so intimately you might be able to sense the stae or health of it. Thru this kiss you are able to stimulate the subject also, much like the belle line the subject will not only feel that solace but sublim pleasure like hours of foreplay.
Sirens Song
Enscorell now becomes the full blown song. Only the more pure of hearts or strongest of wills can resist and even then it can be a battle.
You are now able to feed from the persons Emotional state as if them falling under allows thier energies put off during such time, ie lust or willingness to sustain you for a full meal. In this they are willing to compromise themselves and much like being fea struck will become addicted to you. You can even inflect some moods upon them making that addiction work for you on their own emotional state. A willing subject almost akin to a slave.

Foci
In this the Siren is able to use those of her own line or one of her own kind as a focus for her own powers. She is able to share her power with them giving them the abilit to utilize some of her own song against another. If, however that being hesitates at all it allows said victim the time to actually fight that power and possible win against it.
Song
Your song is nearly perfect and imperveous now. Not only will it effect the unwilling but touch can enhance it making it harder to resist.
The sound is not unlike the natural soothing melodies of the sea or bodies of water as they rush the sore and crash upon rocks.
A conduit inside the body like that of The Sirens kiss makes it doubly harder to resist. Even anita fell under it. This may have something to do with the contact of salty saliva and the face that thru the mouth provides the ease in ingestion takes place, thusly pouring your power in like food allows you an easier access past a persons sheilds.
The Song is not only for lustful purposes but can induce or order any emotional state they wish. Even inciting more explicit emotions like suicidal sorrow, enraged, and chaotic states. IF the victim does not win out against the siren there is a high possibility of addiction to the taste of the sirens power and they will want more.
Sirens Kiss
Much like the kiss of the succubi, this is incredibly potent. Thru this kiss You are not only able to augment your own Song and intice the victim to want to please you in order to be with you and find that peaceful solace of the tides washing all your own supposed troubles away but thru the intimate contact you are able to see thru the persons mind. To read surface thoughts. This can be highly addictive and will have the flavor of the sea.
Also thru this kiss you are able to feed on the persons energy or emotional state that was influenced by the perusal of song and kiss to sustain your own flesh. IN effect re-energize your own.
Order
At this level they are able to effect and contorl or order thier own people. Often they were worshiped as gods and goddess'. At this level you are able to effect even the unwilling of your own folk.
Natural sea animals are willing to go against their natural insticts and will follow a command given even if the Siren is a distance form the sea.
- Able to effect any or call them within a five mile radius of the sea. Or life that spends time near a body of water IE birds.
